Why are we here?
Campus for Christ exists to change the world by helping students discover Jesus.
Former President of the United Nations General Assembly, Charles Malik, once said,
“The university is the clear-cut fulcrum with which to move the world. More potently than by any other means, change the university and you change the world.”
That’s what we believe!
How can we be involved?
Our strategy in accomplishing this is by Faith Adventures through discover, experience, inspire.
DISCOVER a personal relationship with Jesus Christ - Through various forms of initiative evangelism, as well as through the many outreach events we put on throughout the year, it is our hope that every student every year at universities across Canada will have the opportunity to discover Jesus Christ.
This “Knowing God Personally” booklet (pictured to the right) conveniently summarizes the basic principles about what it means to discover a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
EXPERIENCE the power of the Holy Spirit through spiritual growth and by helping someone discover Jesus Christ - Discipleship Groups, weekly large group meetings, and special retreats like Summit and Winter Conference, all serve to better equip and build students up in their faith.
As students are given opportunities to step out in their faith and experience the power of the Holy Spirit, others can have the chance to discover Jesus.
INSPIRE heroic engagement through mobilizing others in the power of the Holy Spirit to help many discover Jesus Christ.
We also want to send students out to their jobs, on Spring and Summer Projects, on year-long National and International Internships to be lights in the world for Christ, helping others discover Jesus.
What do we hope will happen?
- Our vision is to develop movements that equip students as spiritual multipliers for a lifetime of ministry.
- Our vision is that every student be given an opportunity to discover Jesus.
- Our vision is that students be supernaturally transformed through beginning a personal relationship with Jesus.
- Our vision is to be a leader in global impact by inspiring other nations to develop sending movements.
All of these commitments are based on Jesus’ commands:
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
